Being a wildlife carer can certainly have its highlights, but there is a lot you need to know before delving into the unknown. As a KWR wildlife carer you are entitled to a Carer's Pack which includes information on how to care for common native animals that we encounter, updates, resource lists and lots more. At the moment these Carer's Packs are being reviewed and updated with new content, more information and when these are ready we will certainly let you know when they are available for each new carer. As we rely heavily on donations, either of monetary value or time value this may take a little while as our volunteers are working on this hard and are very busy trying to collate new information, more resources and content for our new & improved Carer Packs so please stay tuned.
Our dedicated wildlife carers
We are very proud of the carers who take time out of their busy lifestyle to help with any injured or sick animals that come in. This section is dedicated to all our carers that have helped us over the years and showcases some of the stories of them.
The Department of Environment
and Conservation in Western Australia (DEC) is responsible for
implementing legislation that applies to the management of
wildlife and also hold regular Wildlife Rehabilitation Courses, Workshops and other events to help educate and train new wildlife carers. You can find out more about these courses by visiting DEC's Website here.
