Kimberley Wildlife Rescue is establishing an animal sanctuary for any wildlife that may not be able to be released into the wild.

This facility is being built on private land, donated to us by Mr. Paul Mock and family. Their Sandalwood Sanctuary is located on land known as "The Old Dairy", which is on the outskirts of Kununurra, on the edge of the Ord River.

We are very grateful for this donation of land for the development of our sanctuary, which will be called the "Kununurra Wildlife Gardens".

A current layout of our plans is below.

Stage 1 of the gardens will be dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and long term wildlife carer, Sue Roberts

We have already started to build in Stage 1 and we would like to thank the following people for their support, donations, time and money, to make this happen.

Our wallaby enclosure is now up and running and we already have had a few wallabies that have been released there.

A very special Thank You to:

  • Guerinoni & Sons (for donating the concrete)
  • Argyle Engineering (for donating the fencing poles)
  • Kimberley Industries (for donating chain mesh & wire)
  • Berm Backhoe (for donating tools & equipment)
  • Franmore Constructions (for donating steel & generator)
  • Les Ross (for digging & maintenance)
  • Rebecca Vickers (for her outstanding help)
  • Graeme Pearce (for building it!)
  • Paul Mock & family
